If date more recent

I have dates in columns B & C which are being pulled from another workseet using a vlookup. I need a formula in column D that says if date in column B is more recent than in Column C put in YES if not NO. However in some circumstances there is no date in column B because nothing has been pulled as the vlookup formula I have used is =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2,'DATAPVT-LAST DIRECT ORDER DATE'!A:B,2,FALSE),"")

Can any-one help?
