    Vlookup and max

Hello, I really don't know how to explain this so I'm gonna say how it is. As you can see in this file there is a table which has a black column attached next to it. In the first row its says "Small Tumble" because that is the most worked department by the worker. How can one have this way but automatically?

    Thanks

    Re: Vlookup and max

Vlookup is only good for looking down a column, you need to use Hlookup for looking along rows.

But, because the result you want is above the row where you're looking for the criteria, that will not work here, you need index and match instead.

    =INDEX($B$2:$J$2,MATCH(MAX(B3:J3),B3:J3,0))
