Do I have enough ingredients

Hi, I'm hoping to get some help in the creating a formula.

My challenge is in my existing workbook i have a current list of all the ingredience i have in stock. I also have a reciepe for a number of products I am making and the amount of ingredience each product requires.

i.e. Ingredience. A i have 10 units, b i have 5 units Reciepe for Product 1 = A 6 units, B 3 units. Produt 2 = A 5 units , B 2 units. Product 3 = A 3 units, B 4 units and so on.

What I want calaculate is, 1. do i have enough ingredience to make a number of products at the same time (say 1,2 and 3)
2. if not what ingredience don't i have enough of.

Thnx in advance.

Hi, welcome to the forum

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: Do I have enough ingredients

Looking at the file it would seem that:
1) The units column on the BOM sheet needs to be completed (I assumed 1 unit per in the attached copy),
2) The formula in F4 on the Orders sheet needs to be array entered (when cell F4 is in edit mode simultaneously press the Ctrl, Shift and Enter keys),
3) To find the raw material, used in the production of the product displayed in cell D4, that is lowest in inventory, use the following in cell G4:
Formula: copy to clipboard
