    Cell value depending on the month of today's day

    Hello all,

    Could you please help me manage to do something like this? (if it's even possible)

    - i have a worbook with two sheets
    - on sheet 1 i have three rows: row1 = years, row2 = numbers from 1-12 (months of the year), row3 = some values for every month
    - on sheet 2 i have a cell, let's say it's D3. Now, in Sheet2!D3 i need a formula that should change the value of this cell depending on the month of today's day. So if today is in october, the returned value should be the value found on Sheet1, cell J3. That means that until october it's over the value returned should be the same. When will be 1rst november, the returned value should be K3.

    I just tried TMS's solution and it's working wonderfully.
    I will try now Maras_mak's solution and choose the one that fits best.

    My solution doesn't cater for the year but it will be a while before you can test that.


    maras_mak's solution does, but I think it could be shorter, comme ci:

    You can test this by putting a date in cell A1 and changing the formula to look at that rather than using TODAY()

    For example:

    Note that it is always more efficient to put =TODAY() in a cell and refer to that rather than having multiple use of the TODAY() function. That's because =TODAY() is a volatile function and it is better to have one reference than lots.
