Lookup if Partial String match exists

    Hi,

Currently wanted to develop the formula which enable to make lookup if partial string match exists.

For example I have a range of values

    12345
    67890
    13579

And want match with value for example 12349
So basically it should mach with the first Value in the range, in other words make matching even there is one different value in the string.
For this case Vlookup and WILDCARDS can be used, but te issue sis that this different number can be in the beginning of the string or at the end, for example 91234 or 12349.

I think you will need VBA for this - shall I move your thread?

    Thread moved.

Please don't quote whole posts, especially when you are responding to the one immediately preceding your own - it's just clutter. It's OK to quote if you are responding to a post out of sequence, but limit quoted content to a few relevant lines that makes clear to whom and what you are responding. Thanks!
