Search for a name in a list, then count how many dates are linked to that name

Iv attached a mock version of what I am trying to achieve.

Each way I have tried ends up giving a ridiculously large number, zero or an error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

In E3:

=COUNTIFS($A:$A,E2,$C:$C,">0")

Copy to the right.
