Formula to Sum every 4 rows

Hi all

I am trying to sum cells D5:E8 in first cell, D13;E16 in second cell. However excel does not drag down this formula as expected. Please provide solution.

P.S: Please explain in detail, I am a newbie to excel.

I want to skip these rows entirely.

You say you want to drag, I assume you want to drag down, what about D17:D20? an then you need D21:D24, and so on?
We can't be guessing all, it would help a lot if you upload a file: GO ADVANCED, Manage Attachments.
