Creating a drag box to add numbers

I have a quick question that I know someone will know the answer to real quickly.

I have a spreadsheet and I have numbers in the first column.
In the second column, I want to add the numbers in the first column.
However I want to add them one cell at a time so they accumulate.

What would be the formula that I would start with in column C to create a box I could drag downward?

I have created two screen shots to help explain what I want.
The first one is what I am working with.
The second one would be the results of the formula after I drag the box.

Try in C2 and drag down...

    =SUM($B$2:B2)

First off, thank you very much that did the trick.
    I really appreciate it.

    Once more question.

Now if I want to do the same think but drag it upwards.
I tried it but it will not work.

Here is what I was using:
    =SUM($E$6:E7)

When I drag up it the second formulas is not correct.
Is there a different formula that I should use?

    Where are you entering =SUM($E$6:E7)?

What specific results are you expecting?

That is the formula that I am using.
However when I put in in cell F^ and drag it upwards you can see the results that I get in column F.
I would like to have it work to display the results in column G.

It words when you drag downwards but does not seem to display the correct results when dragging upwards.
Maybe it a simple thing that I am over looking?
