EDIT: I realize I need to rewrite the formula below to include an AND statement. Please disregard until I can try to fix the problem. I will update this post when I'm done.
EDIT #2. I solved the problem. The formula which works for my needs (if anyone really wants to know!) is:
I often write nested IF formulas, and sometimes wind up with one which has a missing "if false" part. That part is almost always a
.
I detect the problem when using it in a workbook which returns "FALSE" in the formula's cell instead of what I want, which is a "0."
Usually I try to analyze the problem by breaking down the complete, nested formula into its components: One "IF" formula per line, which I paste into Windows Notepad.
I also look at the end of the formula where there are multiple ")" such as
. If I move the cursor between each ")" I'll see the helper info stating "value if true" or "value if false."
But the following formula has me stumped. Can you catch the error... and/or give me any hints on how to detect the missing "0" when I write these formulas in the future? (Or do you need more info to help me?)
Thanks
