Excel 2016: Convert Alphanumerical value to an Icon

    Hi all

Is it possible to use conditional formatting or something else to convert a cell value into a symbol?

So I have possible values A1-E5 in cells, so if say the first cell shows D1, can I make it show a black circle instead?

    Any help appreciated!

If you can find all of your desired symbols within fonts (try Wingdings fonts) then it may be possible with conditional formatting.

Otherwise you might need to overlay shapes using vba.
