Auto populate holiday tracker from year planner

Hi,

I've already had so much help with building this tracker so thanks to everyone so far. But I have made an amendment by adding sheet "Planner" where I can input the holidays taken by employees. All these sheets currently work fine as they are if I were to input data manually.

What I am looking to do is auto populate sheet "Holiday Overview" cells C4:N28 with the hours holiday taken which is based on the information input on sheet "Planner".

My theory is that I enter the number of days holiday taken on the "Planner", multiply this by the hours worked each day (so I added column F on sheet "Employees") and then this is the number of hours holiday to add to the corresponding cell on sheet "Holiday Overview". The number of cells filled in on the "Planner" will represent the number of days worked each week which is shown in column G sheet "Employees". I have set marco buttons to add/remove holiday, and then I type the first name of the employee.

The result required is, enter holiday on the "Planner" with first name, cross reference this with the name and month on "holiday Overview" and enter the number of holiday hours taken. This would mean matching the month on "Planner" to the month on "Holiday Overview", matching the name on "Planner" to the first name on "Holiday Overview", and live updating this as holiday is added/removed on the "Planner".

I have attached the blank workbook, I will comment below with an example of the results I require. I'm sure its possible but there are just to many references for me to work out.

Thanks

It may be your good at some things just not consistent!

Just don't think there was any need for the way you acted when people come here looking for help.

The way I acted, I simply asked you not to post another thread on top of an open thread. I even said you could just bump the thread.

Please tell me how that was rude or inappropriate in any way.

Again, best of luck getting the help you need.

TAC - there is nothing unhelpful about what has been done. As moderators, we have to close duplicate threads and make sure the member knows why it was closed. There has been no suggestion that anyone was unwilling to help you.

Re: Auto populate holiday tracker from year planner

Your post does not comply with Rule 3 of our Forum RULES.

Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

Please make sure to include the full link, so that other members will be permitted to continue helping you

Note that if you have fewer than 10 posts, you may need to type the link, or past it in pieces (or ask a mod to do that for you)

Re: Auto populate holiday tracker from year planner

And what is "bump the thread"? Surely if I don't know the difference between that and posting on top of an open thread then then help would be in explaining what I should do, not what I shouldn't do!

Apologies for any offence, non intended. I just get frustrated when people are quick to comment on wrongs when no help has been offered, after all that's what forums are meant to be about.

It doesn't seem possible to delete posts so I'll just mark it as solved and move on.

Again sorry!

Hey, no worries. I actually thought for a moment about explaining what "bump" meant, but unfortunately didn't. You could have asked for clarification. It use to be in the Forum Rules, but it appears it's not there anymore.

~TaC~ my mods are just making sure our forum rules are maintained, nobody is picking on you, nor are we unwilling to assist you on this.

Just for the record, duplicate threads ate not permitted. If you can find your original thread - and at least 24 hours have passed with no response - post on that same thread again. What often happens, when the forum gets really busy, posts jet bumped down the list pretty quickly and can "fall off the radar". When you post a anything on that thread, maybe something like "do I need to add more clarification" or "is my question clear", it brings your thread back to the top of the list again.

If you cannot find your thread, ask a mod or admin to assist in finding it for you.

Both Jeff and Ali are 2 of the most helpful members you will find on this - or any other - site, so maybe a little patience would work wonders

Thanks for the understanding on this
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
