    If cell = x, populate row y

    Hi,

    I hope this makes sense:

I have a sheet A with data/rows related to postcodes. Sometimes the postcode is repeated.
I have other sheets B/C/D with data related to postcodes. However, the postcodes are all unique and some postcodes are missing.
I would like sheet A to pull all the data from sheets B/C/D that matches the postcodes into the same row.

    Sheet A
    AB1 Value1
    AB2 Value2
    AB3 Value3
    AB3 Value4
    AB3 Value5

    Sheet B
    AB1 Value10
    AB3 Value11

    SheetC
    AB2 Value20
    AB3 Value21

    Thanks

    That's not very clear - it looks like AB3 has a Value3 in sheet A, but Value11 in sheet B and Value21 in sheet C, and AB2 has a Value2 in sheet A but Value20 in sheet C - hardly unique !

It would help if you attached a sample Excel workbook.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post. Don't try to use the Paperclip icon, as it doesn't work on this forum.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

Re: If cell = x, populate row y

So, I have attached a sheet with 4 tabs.

Sheet 1 has the data I want to work with.

Tabs 2,3,4 have data that I want to have appear in sheet 1 automatically if there is data.

With sheet ‘Median’, I only want values to appear in sheet 1 for rows that are 3 bedrooms (under the ‘rooms’ column).

I hope I have explained it clearer now.

    Thanks

It's still not very clear to me what you want to achieve. Perhaps you should add another sheet to your file where you can manually show what you want the outcome to be.

    Hope this helps.

Re: If cell = x, populate row y

Let me try and explain it this way:

Sheet 1 has postcodes and Towns
    Ab1 Ealing
    Ab2 Hackney
    Ab3 Hammersmith

Sheet 2 has Towns and Regions
    Ealing London
    Hackney London
    Hammersmith London

I would like to to merge the data together so I have postcode, Town, Region in the same rows
    Ab1 Ealing London
    Ab2 Hackney London
    Ab3 Hammersmith London

The file that you attached to Post #3 is nothing like what you describe in Post #6 - did you attach the wrong file?
