Thumbs up Adding numerators and denominators seperately

    Hi

I'm hoping someone can help. I have data in cells D6,G6 and J6 that are fractions. I want to add these to get a total but I'm struggling.

I need it to add numerators and denominators seperately so that values of 0/2, 0/2, 2/2 gave a result of 2/6. I also need it to ignore cells that contain a non-fraction (some cells contain the phrase NT).

    Thanks in advance

It would help if you attached a sample Excel workbook.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post. Don't try to use the Paperclip icon, as it doesn't work on this forum.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

Re: Adding numerators and denominators seperately

    Thanks

I have attached an example as requested. So in the historical/cumulative columns i need to have the data added up for each test for each person individually.

    Hope that makes sense
    TIA

This works where all the tests are complete but not in the case of "NT" values.

Maybe it will help to get started. Maybe you could put 0/0 rather than NT? You could use Conditional Formatting to highlight the "0/0" values.
