Post conditional formatting rows when cell values change every row

i have am trying to compare two cells to each other in 200 or more rows.. comparing if b4 cell is greater than b1 cell, c4 is greater than c1, d4 is greater than d1. all the values in each row are different. i can do it one by one but is there any way to do all of them?

    5 2018 5 2 Little Tinamou 2
    1 2018 1 1 Black-bellied Whistling Duck 1
    5 2018 5 1 Gray-headed Chachalaca 1
    1 2018 1 3 Wood Stork 3

So in the first row. b4 would not change color because it is not greater than b1, neither in c1, nor d1, but e4 is greater than e1 so it changes color.

    Hi and welcome.
I think it would be easier to help you if you could post the sample data in a workbook rather than the sample typed out as above. It's not instantly clear which data belongs to which columns..

Put the data in a workbook and highlight the cells that should change colour and we can help from there.

To attach a sample workbook click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Re: conditional formatting rows when cell values change every row

OK, your original post is a little confusing now as it doesn't tie in with the sample workbook, but have a look at the attached and maybe this is what you mean.

I've applied a single conditional formatting rule (based on a formula) to the range E4:E148.
The formula that runs it is simply =E4>A4 and will highlight any cell in that range where the value in E is greater than the value in A on the same row.

Does that work for you or have I completely misunderstood?

Re: conditional formatting rows when cell values change every row

Yes you can take out the ones you were adding one by one

Simple steps to follow to apply what I did:
    1) Select the range E4 down to E148 (or whichever row is the last one if your other workbooks differ)
    2) Home / Conditional Formatting / New Rule / User a formula to determine which cells to format
    3) In the box under where it says "Format values where this formula is true" enter =E4>A4
    4) Apply your formatting colours below that
    5) Click OK and you're done
