Conditional format if a cell contains part text of another cell

    Hello All,

I have a quick query i am hoping excel can automate

I have two lists of data in column A and column B.

If column B (manually entered) contains the first part of column A i would like the cell to format red.

In the attached example if column A says Maths2 and column B says Maths i would like column B to turn red. This would also be the case for English and English2 etc

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance

    Select B2:B6

Home > Conditional formatting > New rule > use a formula

if only check in the same row
    =SEARCH(B2,A2)

if check all row in column A

    =COUNT(SEARCH(B2,A2:A6))

    > fill color
