I recently thought that my basketball player database needed some retooling, and while doing so, since I'm going to restart a number of profiles under my new format now, I might as well have the profiles be automated so that they go into the database AS I type it in my player profile sheet. I've created a super-dumbed down version of my profiles and database, and I've linked them. Basically, as I explained, all I'm trying to do is make it so that Excel automatically types everything I type into a player's profile and immediately inserts it into the database at their position without having me have to do =(cell) to every cell in the database for a stat, cause I got plenty of them and it's honestly a time waster for me, since there have been thousands of players in college basketballs history, and if I want to do everybody's profile, I need to do this so it's quicker for me, if that makes sense to you guys reading this. Hopefully you see what I mean in the linked Excel file, but basically what I want is for it to A. put in in the database automatically as I am typing it on the player's profile page and B. Have Excel automatically go down a row so it doesn't overlap another, which is a problem I encountered trying to solve this. I tried VLOOKUP, as you'll see with the database and the senior player's profile page, but I want Excel to apply to all 4, so that when I type in one of the 4 pages (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior), it automatically puts whichever one I'm typing. Again, sorry if my explaining is bad, cause it's tough for me to explain honestly, but I hope once you guys check out my example profiles, you'll understand what I mean. I would be grateful if anyone can help me figure this out. Thank you in advance!
