    Commission Split Formula

Hi everyone! I'm new to the community.

I'm so glad I found this place since I'm terrible at excel (I got a B- in Excel in my computer class so I got the basics down).

I'm trying to figure out how to do a commission split structure formula excel sheet and hoping anyone can help.

    For example (1):
    $50.00
We take 10%, 15, or 20% commission off of it (But we'll use 10% for easier math)
    =5.00
Then we do a 50/50 commission split between manager and company (But we can also do 60, 70, 80/40,30,20)
    =2.5

Sometimes we'll have a facilitation fee which takes 5% off of the 5.00 commission we get off a job after we do the 50/50 split as seen here:
    $50.00
    -10% = 5.00
    -50% split = 2.5
    -5% = 0.25
    -Company Cut = 2.25

If that all makes sense, I just want to be able to choose which commission split number goes into the box (or if you have to enter one at all) and enter an amount and get the net earnings of what it would be.

(if this all makes sense). Please see attached excel document.

Thanks in advanced for your help!!!

take a look at this. I don't think we're there yet... as you stopped explaining what you want before the end... I think. Choose the % from the yellow shaded drop-down boxes.

    Hey Glenn,

Thanks so much for taking a tackle at this!! This is almost perfect to what I'm looking for. So I apologize if it got confusing.

So the company % and the commission split % are correct.

I didn't add this, but we don't always take a 5% facilitation split, so there should be a 0% option for it as well.

The 5-15% commission split should be based off the company earnings not off the commission split (1).

So company Net should be 2.25 not 2.38

    Really awesome job!!!!

I'm getting confused.... Not enough coffee. Check this over and (if needed) fill in expected answer manually in gold cells.

This is basically almost there. The company %, Comission split & Facilitation are all correct now.

Can you display the company split 2 off of the gross company earnings (for example another 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, 20)

So there should be 2 splits off of the 5$ to display 2 values.

    so 2.50 for commission split 1 & 2.50 for company split 2.

And if theres a facilitation fee then it should be company split MINUS the facilitation fee.

    I attached the example again.

    Sorry if this is confusing.

    Re: Commission Split Formula

Hi Glenn, This is great work. I would like to make some small edits to this form but I can't find the formulas. I'm trying to use this for my team. There is the Gross Commission Split to brokerage(Split 1), Split to Team Member(Split 2) and Team Fee(Facilities Fee) or Team Split.

For Example: $10,000 commission check, 26% Brokerage Split(2,600), 70% Team Member Split(7,000), 4% Team Split($400) Want to be able to select from 7 different percentage values. Then have totals for Brokerage, Team Member, Team. Can you help me figure this out?

    LeoJ... Hi.

It's a forum rule that you start your own thread, rather than "piggy-backing" on someone else's thread. This helps prevent massive confusion arising - which will happen if it is not clear which question is being answered. So please start your own thread and explain your own problem (make sure that, right from the start, you use a meaningful title (NOT things like "help needed" or "urgent problem"... think of the Google search terms that you would use to find the solution).

A picture is worth 1,000 words. An Excel sheet is worth 1,000 pictures. So, prepare a SMALL sample sheet (10-20 rows, not thousands!!!). Make sure there is enough data to demonstrate your need. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary. Remember to remove ALL confidential information first!!!

The yellow banner about sample worksheets, at the top of the screen tells you how to post a sheet here on the Forum.
