Unique Ranking (No Duplicates)

Hi all,

I need to return a ranking of a list of values that contains no duplicates. I did find this common solution on another site (=RANK(A2,$A$2:$A$11,1)+COUNTIF($A$2:A2,A2)-1) that seems to do the trick but I am hitting cases where it is not working and was just hoping someone might know how to fix it?

Please refer to the attached document with two cases provided.

I tested on the two cases I provided plus in some other areas in my worksheet and this appears to be working properly!!
