    Highlighting Matching Text

Hello All, I'm looking at highlighting similar text in a sheet. The conditional formatting function doesn't work as the text in the cells will not match exactly.

    E.g. Cell A1 = 176-1d980
    Cell B1 = 176-1D980 Product 1Fr3

I would like both cells to highlight as they both contain the same product code of 176-1d980.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Stacey

So the only two cells that you will be comparing and conditionally formatting are A1 and B1?

No, I'll create a better example and attach.

    Re: Highlighting Matching Text

I've attached a better example - I've created the end result I'm looking for:
    - cell c3 is highlighted because C38 has some matching text and visa versa
    - cell c6 is highlighted because c66 has some matching text and visa versa
    - cell e39 is highlighted because b66 has some matching text and visa versa
    etc.

The data is not laid out in a way that enables the user to [easily] do anything more than look at it.

True enough, that is my dilemma - easy to look at (for meetings) but somehow still work with the data.
