Lets assume L$46 =100, D73 =3 and D74 =5
This is what I get, the entire column would show 300.00, even though row number does change when copying.
L$46*D73 =300.00
L$46*D74 =300.00
How do I fix this.
It is as if it is copying absolute values.

Are calculations set to automatic?
Yes they are.
I took the formula to another column and there it would calculate correctly. This is a spreadsheet I have been using many time. This time I had to add 3 more rows of data, which are the problem ones. Also newly created summing of the result column show the correct formula of Sum(L49:L76), but the result is zero, where it should over $154,000.
Can you post a sample sheet on the forum ? ( Go advanced - Manage attachments)
Not a picture please
I copied a portion of the spreadsheet I am working on, The column I am trying to add gives me only zeros, but the formulas are there
I think it has something to do with protected view. I took all checkmarks off in the trust center and now the calculations show.
There is a circular reference
In cel J7 you have the formula =SUM(A7:J7)

English is not my native language sorry for errors
Please correct me if I'm completely wrong
I did get a circular reference popup when I opened the file. I just could not find it. I had not clue that this could be the cause of the strange results. How does one find it, other than rechecking all formulas?
Thank you for your help.
Excel will "try" and show you what the cell ref is, in the lower left corner of the sheet (next to READY).
If the circ ref is on that sheet, it will show the cell ref, if it is on another sheet, it will just tell you there are circ refs.
However, depending on the complexity/size of your WB, the reference shown may not necessarily BE the actual problem. What I then do is delete that cell (or range of cells if the formula is the same), and then see where excel says the problem is. Repeat this until the error goes away. Only you find where the problem is, UNdo all the deletes, go to that last deleted cell, and see if you can find/fix the problem.
