    Compairing periods to periods

    Hi all,

I'm having a little issue with een excel formule, which is quite hard to get.
I'm trying to do the following thing:

    For example:
Imagine that i'm renting a building with three chambers to three different people: "Ben, Alex and Steven".

Ben is going to hire the chamber from 01/01/2018 until 31/09/2018
Alex is going to hire from 01/08/2018 and is stil doing this today
Steven started hiring on 01/09/2018 and stopped on 09/10/2018

In order to maintain the chambers there are a few costs
    for example:
500,00 Insurance that covers the entire year 01/01/2018 until 31/12/2018
400,00 Electricity that covers the period 01/01/2018 just until 30/04/2018
    ...

Now its quite normal that Alex only has to pay insurance for the period 01/08/2018 until 31/12/2018
    And Alex, only for 01/09/2018 - 09/10/2018
    ...

If some of the tenants disappear, the remaining tenant will bear the remaining costs.
    For example
Steven will pay the rest of the insurance that relates to the period 09/10/2018 - 31/12/2018.

    Capture.PNG
Based on this i would like to divide the charges automatically.

Has anyone an idea on how this should get to work?

    Kind regards
    Dan

    Re: Compairing periods to periods

    Hi and welcome
Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
