I am attaching sample sheet where I want two columns( A & C) to be compared and then the value of Column B gets inserted in Column D from column B in front of the correct Name.

Why do you not want the serial numbers for M and N returning?
If you do, then in D2 copied down:
=VLOOKUP(C2,$A$2:$B$15,2,0)
