    Changing Weekly data into monthly

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help.

In Column A I have thousands of SKUs listed down the rows.
Across the top Row I have weekly sales projections for several years.

What I'm trying to get is the same layout on a new sheet, but the top row is now monthly sales. Ie. Summing all the January weeks for SKU1 through SKU1001, all the Feb weeks, and so on.

I'm stumped how to do this in a robust way.

Have a look at Power Query (Get & Transform) on the Data ribbon. If you can attach a sample workbook, one of us may be able to help a bit more.

Re: Changing Weekly data into monthly

Hi Jimbo and welcome to the forum,

I built you some fake data in the attached. I then pulled it into Power Query like AliGW suggested and Unpivoted other columns. After than I duplicated the Date column and "Transformed" it to the Month Number. This put back into the second sheet which can be Pivoted to what I think your answer. Hope this helps... Time to learn Power Query? It is pretty easy...

UnPivot Other Columns then Pivot Table.xlsx
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
