Question Completely Lost with VLOOKUP

Okay, I'll try to structure this as understandably as possible:

I have an Excel Spreadsheet with 4 tabs
• The first tab is my base of operations
• I want to pull information from the 4th tab and match it with items on the 1st tab
• The first tab has a "Content ID" in the "A" column
• The 4th tab has that same "Content ID" and "rt id" in the "C" and "H" columns respectively

So what I'm trying to do is bring forth the "rt id" to the "D" column of the 1st tab by matching the "Content ID"s that are found in both tabs and are identical.

The next issue is:
• Once I have the "rt id" pulled to the 1st tab I want to query the 3rd Tab Column "G" and see if the corresponding "rt id" on that tab says "Yes" on the "G" column of the 3rd Tab.
• If it does I want to just populate a "True" or "False" on "Q" column of the 1st Tab

Finally:
• I want to query the 2nd tab columns "D" "E" and "F" to see if they say "False"
• I would ideally use the "Content ID" found on Column "A" of both tabs as they are the same
• If it does come back as "False" I would like the answer "Yes" to populate in Column "R" of the 1st Tab
• If it comes back "True" I would like it to populate "No" in Column "R" of the 1st Tab

I have looked over tutorials, but it doesn't seem to ever work and I am banging my head against the wall.

Some more information:
• 1st Tab is called custom_offers
• 2nd Tab is called Differential
• 3rd Tab is called RT
• 4th Tab is called Content

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Completely Lost with VLOOKUP

Hi, welcome to the forum

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Completely Lost with VLOOKUP

I've attached a document with Dummy data in the fields that are pertinent and descriptors beneath those columns being used. I hope this helps as I am so completely lost.
