    Conditional formatting with IF

    Hello guys,

    I have the following problem: I have to conditionally format certain values based on values in another coloumn (see Excel sheet for details). I need a traffic light system: if the value in coloumn B is zero then this is the condition

    green yellow red
    <= 15 >15 <=22 > 22

    If the value is 30, then

    green yellow red
    <= 30 >30 <=37 > 37

    and so on.

    Basically, I have to have several conditional formats for the same cell, so that when I order the table based on another coloumn, the formatting stays true.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Re: Conditional formatting with IF

    you could setup 3 rules
    one for green
    one for yellow
    one for Red

    And a list for Green and test if <=
    then add 7 - as each one is 7 days for amber
    and > +7 days red

    i copied the values to A26 and the green in B26
    GREEN
    =And(c3<>"",C3<=INDEX($B$26:$B$35,MATCH(B3,$A$26:$A$35,0)))
    AMBER
    =And(c3<>"",C3<=INDEX($B$26:$B$35,MATCH(B3,$A$26:$A$35,0))+7)
    use stop if true and order for green to be first on the conditional formatting list
    RED
    =And(c3<>"",C3>INDEX($B$26:$B$35,MATCH(B3,$A$26:$A$35,0))+7)

    use $ if you want to highlight the row, in front of the column C and B

    spreadsheet added which will highlight the row

    if you only want the 1 column then just select that column as the range
