    Problem with Match function

    Hello all,

I seem to be having a problem with the match function. I have a list of values that are in ascending order based on if they meet certain criteria. What is strange is that when I run a match function to get the row number it works for some of the items but not all of them. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

    Thanks.

You are experiencing common floating point error: https://www.excelforum.com/groups/ma...nd-errors.html You can see this by entering =(j11-237) into K11 and formatting as scientific (0.00E+0). You will get a very small non-zero number. Solution usually is to include an appropriate round function on the calculation.

I can only think that the value in J11 doesn't exactly equal 237, but as I don't have the MAXIFS function I cannot tell
