sorry, i had to block out some of the data. but, in these two snips, the amount should equal 2 in "Number of Locations used"
Something like
=SUMPRODUCT(1/COUNTIFS([Locator],[Locator],[Item],Item))
Name in square brackets refer to the columns in the structured table, the last 'Item' refers to the item refernce in the second snip.
So in that situation i would have to type out each locator?
items are all zero
are they unique?
can you represent the correct data
would the item simply appear twice ?
You have a structured table, so that will be the name of the whole column, however you will need to add the name of the table in front of the open square bracket for each of the 3 descriptions.
If you need additional help, please read the second line in post #2 (etaf's first reply) again.
there are thousands of part numbers in my entire list and hundreds of locators, the snippet is sent was of one part number though. I, unfortunately, cannot reveal additional data.
Hello cookie1034 and Welcome to Excel Forum.
We probably don't need actual locator and item values, just representations so that we can get an idea of what you are working with. For example the locators could be represented as a, b, c etc. and the items as 1, 2, 3 etc.
