    Doing an allocation in Excel

I have task in excel that I must perform that I hope you'll will be able to help me with.

I am allocating limited money and I need to allocate the same to everyone in increments until the pool is exhausted.

So its almost like dealing cards. For each round I would deal everyone 5 cards until the deck is exhausted.

However, there would be people around the table who have requested more cards than others.

At the point in a round where there are more people awaiting cards than cards available in multiples of fives (Three people remaining and only 12 cards), I must run these scenarios.

    1. The person who has the least amount outstanding would be issued first
    2. The person with the most outstanding would be issued first
    3. It would be shared equally

    will this what you mean?

if have Least amount or Most amount, it have to fulfill first.
The remain amount will split equally.

however, what portion to be split to other if the amount is only sufficient for least amount?

Re: Doing an allocation in Excel

No sure if I understand your question, but Ill try and explain further.

So everyone would be allotted 5 cards for each round irrespective of the amount they applied for until there arent enough cards to allocated everyone for another round of fives.

at that point the person who applied for the least amount of cards would be allocated their round of fives first then we move up the ladder.

    hi,

Not sure this is what you want, but you can try on this template.

however, i only able to allocate limited resource by ascending or descending.

Everything is updated in List sheet, it will generate the result in table.

    hope it serve your need.
