Question Max and Min If formulas for nesting not the same?

I have two columns I am working with. Column A has the day of the weeks repeating down the column in chronological order Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri. Column B has various random numbers that range from "0" to "755". All of these go from row 3 to row 263.

The Max formula was successfully used to determine the highest amount per day. For example =MAX(IF($A$3:$A$263="Mon",$b$3:$b$263)) worked to give me the highest from all the amounts in column B that matched "Mon" from Column A.

But when I tried the same for the Min function, it returns with #value. =Min(IF($A$3:$A$263="Mon",$b$3:$b$263)).

Any suggestions? I've tried so many things so far with no luck.

Did you remember to enter it with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER?

Hi, good question. I'm old school and hadn't tried that, now I know whey the extra brackets { } are showing up in other examples. I'm on Office 2010 which might matter too.

I should add that when I do the Ctrl + Shift + Enter, it returns with zero. Which makes sense since that is the lowest number. However, I would like to not include zero's. I tried this to see if that would work: =MIN(IF($A$3:$A$263="Fri",$C$3:$C$263>"0"))

    Try this:

    =MIN(IF($A$3:$A$263="Mon",IF($b$3:$b$263<>0,$b$3:$b$263)))

    +CSE, obviously!
