I need help with this formula to shorten it up
    =(IF(A1=$E$1,f1))+(IF(A1=$E$2,f2))+(IF(A1=$E$3,f3))
I want to enter in cell A1 a description from a long list of items and then populate the correct price. The list is in Colum e and the price are in Colum F

    Re: help with a formula

It seems to me that a simple VLOOKUP should do the trick:
    =VLOOKUP(A1,$E$1:$F$3,2,0)

    Hope this helps!
