What is the hyperlink formula to create a hyperlink in Excel to a bookmark in Word

Hi Everyone, this is my first post.

In Excell 2011 for Mac, it was easy to create a hyperlink in Excel to a specific bookmark in Word. You simply choose the file name in the hyperlink dialog box: example; goalsetting.docx, and then added (number sign) # and then the bookmark (such as; goal1); so the hyperlink formula looked just like this: goalsetting.docx#goal1. Super simple and worked great. This however does not work in Excel 2016. I have searched this extensively and there are lots of inquiries (and answers for previous Excel versions), but no one has been able to provide an answer that works for 2016. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello. Welcome to the forum.

How exactly is it not working? How does it behave?

I have searched this extensively and there are lots of inquiries (and answers for previous Excel versions), but no one has been able to provide an answer that works for 2016.
I seldom use hyperlinks and am not familiar with Mac, however the help file mentions including the full path as well as some settings in File > Options > Advanced ... and includes 2016 as relevant.

Did any of those sources mention these?
    Dave

Re: What is the hyperlink formula to create a hyperlink in Excel to a bookmark in Word

    Hi Dave,
Thanks for your quick reply. I've got to put some time into this. I'm dealing with a learning curve as I installed Parellels on my Mac so I could run Windows on it. I've manged to get the bookmark link to work on Excel/Windows, but, so far, it's not converting (working) on Excel/Mac (I've got clients, so it needs to work on both platforms). I'll need to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of Excel 2016 on my Mac to make sure nothings corrupted. I'll let you know if I still feel like pulling my hair out after I've done the re-install and tested to see if that fixes all these super annoying time-consuming glitches. Thanks again for you concern and help.
