I have created a simplified version of my problem and attached... an image of the table as the attach button is not working (apologies if the image doesn't work either).
I have 5 product types of which have multiple length variants. Some of these variants are repeated across types. I want to manually label the first occurrence of a length with a product code and then use a formula to source all duplicate lengths and input the same product code beside them. Lengths which haven’t been ladled with a product code yet should remain blank. The layout of the table should remain the same.
The example shows the first instances highlighted in green with the code input manually. However, the red code should be calculated by a formula.
I’ve been trying to use an INDEX & MATCH formula and I feel like I’m heading in the right direction but I keep stumbling.
I hope somebody can help!
