Need help in formatting a medical reading sheet

    Hello friends.

I am trying to help a mom who is trying to capture her son's blood work reading to see the trend

I want one cell to be colored in 3 different ways - Eg if a reading should be 5-10 then anything below 5 should be red, 5-10 should be green and above 10 should be blue.

I can do conditional formatting but I can only give 1 color, how can I do multiple conditions and multiple colors.

    Poonam

    Hi,

Conditional formatting allows you to create several rules. Just add three more 'New Rules'. Upload the workbook if you are still struggling.

    I don't understand.

That CF is working exactly as you describe.
Please explain what else you need or why this is not what you say you want.

Thankyou Richard and Torachan, I will try that tonight. Can you tell me what is the purpose of "Stop if True"

Re: Need help in formatting a medical reading sheet

The stop if true allows you to limit the processing of subsequent rules in the list. So with three rules with the first one set to Stop if true, the second rules will not be evaluated.

In your case the rules are mutually exclusive, so setting the stop if true for all three is a waste of time since only one of the rules can possibly be true.

In some situations more than one rule could be true so setting the stop if true gives you a greater degree of control although personally I can't remember ever needing it since in most cases the order of precedece seems to achieve the same thing.

    Hi Richard.
The file was my illustration to 'phemrajani' , it is not her file.
The 'Stop if True' is the default and in this case does not influence the result.
