Lookup based on data validation list

    Hi

I need some help with a formula to return the word TRUE in a cell on sheet2 when I change a drop down list. all the info is in a table on sheet1

    for example on

    Sheet1
    Name Qualification 01 Qualification 02 Qualification 03 Qualification 04
    Name 01 Y Y
    Name 02 Y Y
    Name 03 Y
    Name 03 Y

Then on Sheet 2 I would have the Data validation at the top and when i select Qualifaction 1 it would return the below result

    Name Qualification Match
    Name 01 TRUE
    Name 02 TRUE
    Name 03 TRUE
    Name 03

example workbook is attached, not sure how explain further.

Re: Lookup based on data validation list

    Hi

I couldn't get the top formula t work but got the 2nd one working great, changed to match my workbook and got the output to display the qualification

But I have had to change the original Staff page now for some qulaifications in the box it will have a "Y" but for others it will have a date where the qual/license runs out and I can't figure how to change the formula to match.

I have included a new spreadsheet (attached)

If you just want it to return a value if the cell is not empty, use
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Thank you that worked, I think I had been looking at it too long and not noticed how obvious that was
