Re: Dropdown list and auto populate

thanks look about right, though am i correct asuming there is no way to referance the sheet names. not too bad i can just put a heading i guess.

just tryed that the duplicates are also a issue

    thanks again

Maybe this tutorial will help: https://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal02.html

Please upload a workbook where you have tried to implement one of the two and we can then help troubleshoot it for you.

Re: Dropdown list and auto populate

did you see the attachment, how will cell B8 referance the sheet names in a data valadation list. then this sheet could change so i guess i would need to inject a data valadation range with vba to referance what sheet is needed

Re: Dropdown list and auto populate

I asked for a new attachment showing how you have tried to implement one of the two solutions to which I linked. If I have time later I will have a look, but I am busy at the moment. Sorry.

I have had a look at your original attachment and cannot find any attempt at dependent drop-down lists there. In which cells have you tried to implement them?

Re: Dropdown list and auto populate

    Thanks for the help,

about to go out for dinner show. so ill put the workbook together again after that or in the morning.

its cells b7 down and accross to row e.

the stumbling blokc is i can not figure out how to referancy the many suppliers sheets.

and then having more than 1 supplier sheet is confusing me

i think it may have to go vba as thats what i understand better

Re: Dropdown list and auto populate

It might be a case of just reorganising your data. Why do you need more than one sheet for suppliers? This is not good database organisation.

Re: Dropdown list and auto populate

I have a similar problem to the OP. On my attached file, I am trying to auto-populate the cells in Z8-Z18 (QC Volumetrics Mix 1 (A)) based upon the corresponding selection from drop down list in Q7. I had thought it would be as simple and copying and pasting the code I have already used on QC Gradation Mix 1 (A) and changing it from pulling the data from the GradSpecs sheet to the BatchedList sheet. This didn't work however, and I played around a few times and was able to get the cells to populate depending on the selection, but the data wasn't in the proper cells and it looked funny, like the alignment had skewed itself somehow. SO I'm out of ideas and hopefully I'll be able to get some help here. Thank you in advance for your time.
