    Lightbulb Any formulas that would make this easier?

    Hi,

    I'm currently trying to perform a task in Excel that is a bit arduous and I'm wondering if there's an easier way to do it.

    There is a master spreadsheet of data (which has since had lines added to it) with formulas in. I extracted data from the spreadsheet based on the company it belonged to, and those companies have come back to me with updated versions of the extracted data (i.e. changing the name of an employee's line manager, or the amount of time in the office that the employee had).

    I now have to consolidate the changes into the master sheet, highlighting any data that has changed.

    I tried to do this manually and through the compare function but these either don't really work or take waaaaay too long.

    Any help would be appreciated!!

    Paste your returned data set at the bottom of you master list, and flag the rows in another unused column - and add back in any key values that you removed when you extracted the data. Then use Data / Remove duplicates and un-check the column with the flags. That will remove un-changed data. Then sort your entire data set including the flags, and the changed and unchanged data should be together, findable using the flags (you should have key values that should not be changed).
