continue formula down column after inserting rows or continuing at the bottom

I still cant get this right.

I dont want to turn this into tables because then it adds all those column header drop downs and sort functions which is just ugly to me. ruins my sheet.

or do I have to use tables?

This is also on locked cells BTW (H, I)

trying to see if I can insert a new row, or just continue from the last row and have the formulas in H,I continue down the cell without having to drag down the H,I columns to input the formula further down. I thought this would have been simple in excel...I thought if I double click the bottom right corner of the last cell it would keep applying it to the next cell down the column. (infact I think i`m correct on that).

However inserting a new row breaks the formula down the column is it possible to have the formula insert automatically to keep the column "alive"

Have you tried uncheck filter button at Table design Ribbon?

Hi Bo,
when I create a table from the data, the filter button is helpful, but after creating the table I cannot insert new rows? say at row 5-6, the insert function is greyed out.
I wanted the sheet user to be able to insert new rows in the locked sheet, which is possible but it doesnt input the formula,

so basically you are saying the issue I had should be solvable with turning it into a table?

Yes, The table is the answer. Formula won't fill insert row by itself.
Another solution is VBA.
