prefix and suffix fixed value

Hi Experts,

I want to prefix and suffix fixed value. E.g. I copy paste 123 or ABC to a cell and it should show file://ImageFolder/123.pdf or file://ImageFolder/ABC.pdf

Prefix: file://ImageFolder/
Suffix: .pdf
Value: 123 and ABC

Expected result: file://ImageFolder/123.pdf
file://ImageFolder/ABC.pdf

Any help please?

Try using Custom Formatting
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: prefix and suffix fixed value

Hi Ford,

I tried with custom formatting "XXX”#"ZZZ" and "XXX”Text"ZZZ". It works well with numbers but not working with alphabets or alphanumeric. Am I doing something wrong? I want it to work with numeric, alphanumerics.

Thanks,

Re: prefix and suffix fixed value

Hi Ford,

Now the alphabet works but not the number. Both number and alphabets are working if I type the value in the cell but when I copy/paste only alphabet works and not the number. Could you do your magic in the attached file? I want to copy/paste the value from other field and there is no manual entry.

Thanks,

Re: prefix and suffix fixed value

short answer - dont copy/paste.

When you copy/paste, you also transfer the formatting from the source cell, which is probably wiping out and replacing the custom formatting you applied.
