My list isn't being recognised in Data Validation

Hi,

I have found a way to make a dynamic data validation drop down box, which uses a list to add or reduce the items in the drop down box.
It says to place an equal sign and the name of the list in the source box, but when I do, it says that the 'formula' isn't recognised, even though the cells containing the list are then highlighted in the background.

Is there another way to get the list into the data validation?

It would help if you would upload a sample Excel workbook that demonstrates what you are describing. Please include the formula(s) etc that are not working.

be sure to desensitize the data

• click “Go Advanced” (next to Post Quick Reply – bottom right),
• scroll down until you see “Manage Attachments”, click that,
• click “Browse”.
• select your file(s)
• click “Upload”
• click “Close window”
• click “Submit Reply”

The file name will appear at the bottom of your reply.
