COUNTIFS in a range

Hi there,

Hoping I might be able to get a little help with a COUNTIFS formula (I'm beginning to think it isn't possible).

I'd like to get a count of the cells with 'Value' in the range B1:D4 if Column A contains 'Apple'

The formula I'm using is =COUNTIFS(A1:D4,"Apple", B1:E4,"Value") ---- however, this only counts the Value of column B (2)

	A	B	C	D	E
1	Apple	NoValue	Value	Value	Value
2	Apple	Value	NoValue	Value	NoValue
3	Orange	Value	Value	Value	NoValue
3	Apple	Value	NoValue	Value	NoValue

I did think of using a pivot table, however, each day a new column is added and I'l like to avoid having to add a new column to it.

I don't believe COUNTIFS is the tool for this job. Try instead SUMPRODUCT
