    Auto Populated Calendar

    Hello,

I'm looking for ways to make a calendar that auto populates events in Excel from month to month. Calendar items will rely on other calendar items to populate. For example, event X will be on the 15th of the month and event Y will be 2 business days after this. I have no use for transferring it over to Outlook, as I print and distribute.

Any suggestions? Everything that I find online seems to refer to creating simple employee calendars or standard calendars with no events.

I'm not clear on what you're asking. Do you have a sample spreadsheet that shows what you're looking for, with expected results?

I've attached a very basic sample. In this, Events A and B occur daily. Event D happens 2 business days after Event C. The current method really isn't a method at all; simply copy and pasting from one month to another based on the rules. Some of the rules are: 2 BD after the 15th, 4 BD after Event C, 12th or next business day.

Sounds like you may need to create a list of events and build rules using functions like workday, using Index/Match and Aggregate formulas. It could get very complicated depending on what rules you establish. There are calendars out there that do this already which I would think about instead of recreating the wheel. There are very smart people on this forum though so one of them may be able to come with something nifty.

BTW, here's a link to a discussion about excel calendars, and explaining the formulas for dates in detail. It won't give you exactly what you are looking for, but it may be helpful:
