Hello Friends,
Here's my dilemma. My company runs 4 main sizes of paper (8.5x11, 11x17, 12x18 & 13x19). A customer will send us in a pdf. That pdf is likely smaller than the 4 sizes I just listed. I wanted to create a file that would ask you to input Height & Width of an individual pdf. Then based on that size, the 4 sizes that we use will be listed below and it will automatically tell me how many positions we can fit on a sheet.
For example. Customer sends in a pdf. It's a business card and it measures 2 x 3.5. Now our machine cannot print edge to edge, so on a 12x18 sheet, if it was portrait we could fit 24 positions (3 from left to right and 8 up & down). If the sheet was landscape, we could fit 25 on a sheet (5 L/R & 5 U/D).
Now for you excel enthusiast that might be easy, but here's a smaller problem I could possibly have. If that pdf bleeds (which means the print runs off the edge, such as a background color) than that has to be figured in, so I thought below each sheet size could list the same exact sheet size but in parenthesis it could say "with bleed". For example:
12x18 Portrait = 24 12x18 Landscape = 25
12x18 Portrait (With Bleed) = 24 12x18 Landscape (With Bleed) = 20
Does all that make sense? I hope I explained it right and no one is confused. Thank you for your help!
~Ken
