cells listed as h:mm, need to be h:mm:ss help

I have cells that have a value like 22:24 that are formatted as h:mm, but that is actually 22 minutes and 24 seconds. If I change the format to be h:mm:ss it turns into 22:24:00. How do I just add the 00: to the start of it? So I need to make it 0:22:24

If 22:24 is in cell A1, you can put in B1 the formula, =A1/60 and format it h:mm:ss. If you want to change them "in place", you can first type the number 60 some where and then hit ctrl-c (copy). Then select the cells you want to change, and do <Alt>, E, S, and then select "Divide" under "Operation", and then click OK.

What you need to understand about dates and times in excel is…

a date is just a number representing the number of days passed since 1/1/900...and then formatted in a way that we recognize as a date. So, for instance, today (Tue 02 Jul 2019) is actually 43648

Time is actually a decimal part of 1 (day), so 06:00 AM is 0.25, 12 noon is 0.5 and 18:00 (or 6 PM) is 0.75

So, having said that, just "changing" your data the way you want, isnt quite that simple. Try Greg's suggestion and let us know how that worked for you?
