dynamic formula to reference the cell between 2 separate worksheets

    Hi all,

I've tried to create a dynamic formula to reference the cell between 2 separate worksheets. Please refer to attached and advise the error on the formula in cell D6 (=(INDEX(CONCATENATE("'[",A6,"]",B6,"'!",C6),4,2)) of workbook "Test1.xlsx".

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: dynamic formula to reference the cell between 2 separate worksheets

Will you please attach a small sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one and nobody wants to have to recreate your data from scratch.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

    Try this:

    =INDEX(INDIRECT("'["&A5&"]"&B5&"'!"&C5),4,2)

Make sure that BOTH workbooks are open.
