match based on multiple criteria

Hi All! New to the forums and excel! If would be awesome if someone could help me out! I have attached the file I am using to assist. What I am trying to accomplish is if the badge and carrier "match" or are the same to bring back the branch in column D? I cant use a simple vlookup cause there are multiple branches who use the same badges.

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks

Re: Formula Help

Hi, welcome to the forum

1st, I have changed your title to something that more closely describes your question. Please take a look at our rules regarding thread titles.

It always puzzles me why some people make their sheets so small that you can barely read what is shown - why is that?

Anyway, (after zooming out from 65 to 100% - which still shows everything on 1 screen), none of your headings show Badge or carrier on sheet 1?

Also, what do you want the extract based on?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Formula Help

It would probably help a lot if I uploaded the correct excel document! Haha, Sorry!

As for the tiny screen, I have a tiny monitor? Lol

On the VT tab I would like to bring back the branch in column O from the vlookup tab.

I have updated the attachment in the original thread which should make more sense! Thank you

So, which sheet do you want the answers on, and based on what?

On the VT sheet in column O with the heading "PO" I would like the formula to bring back the branch on the vlookup sheet that equals or matches the badge/carrier on vlookup sheet. Does that make sense? The formula could really go anywhere and I can move it, even on the vlookup sheet.

When I download the VT tab data, the PO or column O is typically blank

Re: match based on multiple criteria

OK, and if there is more than 1 match for those 2 criteria? Or will the branch always be the same for those 2 matches?
If there will only be 1 match...
=INDEX(lookup!$C$2:$C$500,MATCH(VT!P2&" "&VT!Q2,INDEX(lookup!$A$2:$A$500&" "&lookup!$B$2:$B$500,0,0),0))
