Formula for if text contained in cell AND has the same value in a corresponding cell

    Hi all

I hope I can explain this one clearly. I have a column containing file paths. Here, I want to find only the top level folders which are related to a specific topic. The topic is contained in an adjoining cell. There can be file paths which present in more than one topic - this is ok. So, for example.

    Topic Filepath

    Apples Documents\Fruits
    Apples Documents\Fruits\Tasty
    Oranges Documents\Fruits

Here, I would like to get rid of the second line, as it is already contained within the first line, AND, it relates to the same topic.

Does this make sense, and would it be possible?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum

Please attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Hi there

Yes, I have attached a sample workbook which sets out at column C the results which I am looking for. Essentially, rows 3 and 4 return a Y value because their filepath is already contained in the top level folder path of row 2, and it also has the same topic.

    Hopefully that's clear!

    Thanks!
