looking up 2 differnet cells and returning a 3rd cell

    Hi please can someone help?

I have some raw data in a sheet, to keep it simple there are 16 questions that have been sent out and responded to by people
the data comes back with 16 rows, each row has the persons name and a different question and answer
In total I have over 2000 rows due to each question being on a different row

I need to create a front sheet that will merge these into one row, so it will have their name in column one, their answer to question 1 in column 2, answer to question 2 in column 3 etc.
The problem i have is I can't find a way to do a lookup that will look for their name and also what their response is to q1, q2 etc. I have tried using ifs, and, index match formulas but can't seem to crack this. Can anyone advise?

It would help if you attached a sample Excel workbook - this does not need to contain all 2000 of your records.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post.

Do not try to use the Paperclip icon, as it doesn't work on this forum.

    Hope this helps.

Hi, managed to sort it in the end. I just added a column to the end of the data joining together the name and question and then vlookuped from that. Thanks though for the help
