# Double IF Statements - Help!

1. ## Double IF Statements - Help!

Hi guys, I'm new here - nice to meet you all!

I am having a bit of trouble with combining some Excel IF statements...

I am working with week numbers in a financial year (1-52), so and am working out the number of weeks stock has been selling in a shop.

e.g. A line came in during week 42, so it's first 12 weeks selling would be week 42 to week 1. In my first column I have the week number (42) + 12 to take you to 54.

So the first part of my IF needs to be IF the week number + 12 is greater than 52, then -53, if not then keep the original value
For this, I've used: =IF(B5>52,B5-53,B5)

Then I also have a second one, IF the week number + 12 = 53, then the result needs to be 52, if not then keep the original value
For this, I've used: =IF(B5=53,"52",B5)

I can't seem to put the 2 IF's together, so that it does one or the other?

Hopefully it's an easy fix, but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

When nesting IFs, the third FALSE element of one IF statement needs to be the second IF statement.

Maybe
Formula:

However upload the workbook and explain how you use it and add some results and no doubt we can help further - perhaps even simplify things.
