    Counting across columns and Grouping

    Hi

    That attached xls has 3 tabs

    1 – Raw data and is has Date, time and duration

    I want to count per day the number of events that are

    Less than 1
    =to 1 but less than 10

    10 or greater

    2 – Tab which has the total number of event per day

    3 – Tab aiming for – this is want I hope to populate

    I can get the data but it’s a slow process and m sure there must be an obvious way ?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards
    John B

    Re: Counting

    Am I missing something, there is nothing in that worksheet that is less than 1, = to 1<10, every number you show is in the hundreds ?

    Can you repost the template highlighting the columns you need counting and where you need the count to be placed.

    Re: Counting

    There is no Raw data tab
    Also there are only two sheets, whereas in you op you said there are three. Have you uploaded the wrong file?

    Re: Counting

    I know nothing about pivots, so don't know if that's an option.
    But with formulae
    =COUNTIFS('Raw Data'!$B$2:$B$14789,A4,'Raw Data'!$D$2:$D$14789,"<1")
    =COUNTIFS('Raw Data'!$B$2:$B$14789,A4,'Raw Data'!$D$2:$D$14789,">=1",'Raw Data'!$D$2:$D$14789,"<10")
    =COUNTIFS('Raw Data'!$B$2:$B$14789,A4,'Raw Data'!$D$2:$D$14789,">=10")
