Formula for multiple drop-downs linked to each other

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is feasible but I have a file with 3 columns (Name, Deal Name and Position), which is a driver connection and always refreshing. On a separate tab, which I called "Template" I need to create a drop-down for each of these. So first, I need a drop-down with the unique values in the Name column. Then, based on what name is selected, the drop-down of unique deal names associated with that name. And then depending on the Deal Name selected, the unique positions associated with that deal name. I'm uploading a sample file that shows my desired results in order to explain better.

Re: Formula for multiple drop-downs linked to each other

    Hi Glenn,

Thanks so much for the help. Just 2 things and sorry to make this so complicated.. For the Position, I may have duplicates so when I replicated this on my file, I have several duplicates on the position drop-down. Also, I completely missed the 4th column (Lot) which would also need a drop-down. Can you help me with this? I updated the sample file to show the new column and results.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi. I went for a short walk this morning... and it finished at 18 miles.... I'm now (more than) a bit tired, so apologies if there are a few glitches here.

The way your data looked... you can have duplicates in primary, secondary and tertiary levels, but not at the quaternary level. This is built around that assumption. there are also 4 Named Ranges (Primary - Quaternary) - CTRL-F3 to view/edit. If you do have duplicates at quaternary level (e.g. 2+ rows of Bert/Deal 1/ Pos 1/ Lot 1) this can be fixed, but it will require more helper columns. If that IS the case, then VBA (at which I'm hopeless) might be a good idea.

    However, this is entirely feasible.

Have a look, try and break it, and get back to me.
